Campaign Story

My name is Veronica, I’d never thought id be at a place like this but i am so glad this community exists. I am raising funds for another round of IVF treatments as we have exhausted all insurance benefits and have already done one cycle out of pocket. We had to undergo fertility treatments due to male factor, my husband was diagnosed with testicular cancer in January of 2021. After sperm freezing before any further damage we decided to start our IVF journey, at first we were told to look for donor sperm but with a second opinion we were told we only needed that one special one and they would be performing ICSI with my eggs. We did our first round in April 2021 which resulted in a chemical pregnancy. We waited a few months and transferred in July 2021, that round was successful and we were pregnant with twins!! My husband was beyond excited as he is 1 of 9 and the only one with no children. Now IVF pregnancy’s are a high risk for SCH which I was diagnosed with at 7weeks, bleeding throughout the pregnancy had our nerves on constant edge. I rested as much as possible and limited my activities, on October 28th at 16 weeks i was home in bed when our world began to collapse. MY WATER broke, not ever having experience this we rushed to the emergency room where they had confirmed that my twin A’s water broke. My only option was a D&E for both of my precious babies, i refused and waited for the Dr. in the AM. The doctor explained to me the risks of carrying the pregnancy on further, ie: infection, sepsis spontaneous delivery at home. I took the risks and agreed to weekly bloodwork. All was well as i was now on full bed rests only leaving the house for our bloodwork trips. unfortunately 2 weeks later we were once again woken up and this time it was much worse , my babies cord had collapsed. Still trying to save baby b I chose a natural delivery in order to save b, so we waited until baby A’s heartbeat dropped and delivered, unfortunately 5 days later baby b’s water also broke and I was rushed down to the delivery suite when I gave birth to him at 19 weeks sleeping. 10 days after that i suffered multiple blood clots in my leg and lung after prolonged bed rest. My doctors have since cleared my and we tried another round in June 2022 which resulted in yet again another chemical. This is our final attempt at building a family after our angels have been gone.
